What Dog Lovers Know About God

ISBN-13: 978-0578301624

What do dog lovers learn about God through their bonds with dogs? Plenty, especially when the Lord is the trainer. What Dog Lovers Know About God is an easy-to-read, entertaining narrative as well as Bible study either for individuals or groups. Although the book offers spiritual lessons that any dog lover will immediately grasp, it will benefit those who are neither churchgoers nor dog lovers. The early chapters deal with grief over the loss of a beloved pet, reassuring the reader that pets do go to heaven. They will also comfort and strengthen the faith of those who are grieving because of the death of any loved one—canine or otherwise. The lessons encourage the reader to draw close to God regardless of his or her situation. They spell out the salvation message and give assurance to the rewards of faith. The rest of the book draws parallels between rehabilitation of two rescued Cocker Spaniels, Annie and Gracie; and rehabilitation of rescued Christians as God transforms them into the people He wants them to be through Christ Jesus. Through stories and Bible study, the text explains how to cope with death, have a relationship with God, be confident in one’s salvation, be saved from those things that bind us, learn to trust God, study the Bible, do spiritual warfare, identify our true enemy, become more like Jesus, hear God, know His will, endure suffering and trials, and live in tail-wagging joy. It also answers why we go through trials, why we need training, why we need to be on a leash, why we need fellowship, and what we can learn from dogs about God’s unconditional love.
